Mortal Kombat!

Wu laoshi, Jet Li’s martial arts master, visited our hotel today for us to meet. He was a very genial, relaxed old man, seventy-two years old — but he looked about five years younger and wished he were fifty years younger. The hotel staff arranged the lobby furniture into a nice lounge arrangement, so we could sit before Wu laoshi and ask him about his experience as a student, teacher, and Jet Li’s master.

What MPAA?

Our group activity for the evening was watching The Dark Knight in our dining hall on the cheapy projector we’ve been using for class. Rachael (tall one) got a copy of it on DVD at one of the single-wide stores down the street from us. We were duly entertained by the Spanish subtitles that popped up during the Hong Kong fight scene, when the dialogue was in Chinese; also, the several shadows that appeared on the screen.

Dark Knight: awesome flick. Yay for mixed-up semi-anti-heroes.
